As an avid swimmer from a very young age, Vicky’s love of the water was innate. After swimming competitively for most of her life, it was only a matter of time before she became a lifeguard. Vicky lifeguarded at Nassau Beach from 1988 to 1991, when she and some of her best friends decided to take the Jones Beach test in 1992. She went on to guard at Field 6 for two years before finding her ultimate home at the West Bath House (Field 3), where she spent the next 23 years.
During her time as a lifeguard, Vicky completed four years at the University of Maryland, where she served as Captain of the swim team her junior and senior years. After college, she graduated from Vermont Law School and became a licensed attorney in New York. She believes it was those amazing weekends working at the beach that gave her the drive to persevere through her most challenging academic years.
In 1997, Vicky founded her own company, Shore 2 Shore Wireless, which became the primary site acquisition company for telecommunications carriers on Long Island. Her company was built alongside the very lifeguards she grew up with. In 2020, Shore 2 Shore merged with Centerline Communications, where Vicky now serves as Executive Vice President.
