The Jones Beach Lifeguard Association proudly supports the following programs and organizations by providing the resources they need to further their missions:
Established in 1929, the Jones Beach Lifeguards have diligently ensured the safety of the shores and pools at our state parks on Long Island, welcoming millions of visitors each year. Their unwavering dedication and commitment to service have become deeply ingrained in their history.
Founded in 1998, this program serves as a vital pathway for aspiring lifeguards. Each year, approximately 30-40 percent of the new recruits in the Jones Beach Lifeguard class are former Junior Lifeguards. These young athletes represent the future guardians of our waters.
We are actively supporting and contributing to the Suffolk County Drowning Prevention Alliance, leveraging our vast expertise and experience in protecting the shores of Long Island.
These initiatives are just a few of the ways the Association utilizes our talents and resources for water safety and lifesaving support. As we grow our support for the community and projects will expand.
