You don’t have to be a current lifeguard to be part of this association. We welcome active lifeguards, retired guards, water safety advocates, instructors, coaches, and community members who share our mission. If Jones Beach is part of your life, this association is for you.
For nearly 100 years, the Jones Beach Lifeguard Association has kept watch over one of the world’s great beaches — free of charge, for every person who walks onto the sand. Families from Long Island and from across the globe have trusted us with the safety of the people they love most. That trust is something we take seriously every single day.
But delivering that level of protection takes more than dedication. It takes investment.
There are many worthy causes. We believe protecting human life — especially the lives of children playing in the surf, families enjoying a summer afternoon, and visitors experiencing this beach for the first time — is among the most meaningful things a community can invest in.
Drowning is preventable. Accidents are reducible. With the right training, the right equipment, and the right people on the shore, tragedies that happen elsewhere don’t have to happen here.
Every dollar you give goes toward making sure that when someone needs help at Jones Beach, help is already there.
